It’s November 2, the birthday of the chivalrous, witty, handsome, eloquent and ever-smiling Shahrukh Khan. The actor doesn’t make a big deal about birthdays and says he plans to work rather than party.
“I'm planning to work that's all I know at least during the daytime. Besides, it has never been a special day for me,” Shahrukh says.
Every year, hundreds of fans throng outside the superstar’s residence to wish him a happy birthday. Some bring with them gifts and cakes. Not just with fans, Shahrukh Khan also celebrates his birthday with the media, cutting cakes and giving sound-bytes. Today is going to be no different.
Though any lavish party is clearly ruled out as the industry is still bereaving the passing away of the veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra, a few close friends and family members might gather together for a small bash. Considering how Shahrukh didn’t celebrate his 21st wedding anniversary a few days back, the superstar isn’t in the mood to party yet.
The next big event he’s presently looking forward to is the release of Jab Tak Hai Jaan, preceded by a grand premiere to bid a befitting farewell to the late Yash Chopra.
Here’s wishing Shahrukh Khan a very happy birthday and many more years of entertainment, many instances of wit and humour, and many more glimpses of that lovely dimpled smile of his. May he live long and strong.
