Huge remakes in Bollywood in 2012

From 'Players', 'Agneepath', 'Rowdy Rathore', 'Son of Sardar' to 'Chashme Buddoor', 2012 will see a string of remakes in 2012.

Bollywood has been remaking films since times immemorial but off-late filmmakers are opting for official remakes over blatant plagiarism.Ghajini, Wanted, Ready, Bodyguard just ascertain the fact. The year 2012 kick-starts with an official remake - Players and there are many more of them in store. We list down the most prominent remakes in 2012 analyzing 'what's new', 'what's retained' and the 'remake history' or each.

Players
Remake of:
 The Italian Job (1969)
After making a career out of unofficially remaking foreign films, director-duo Abbas Mustan are making their first official remake by adapting The Italian Job in Indian milieu.
What's new: The setting is new - New Zealand. There will be the customary Bollywood song-n-dance between the big heist. The actors are trying hard to be cool.
What's retained: With the official rights being purchased, of course the entire heist sequence should be the same.
Remake history: The 1969 Michael Caine-Noel Coward flick was remade in 2003 with
Mark Wahlberg and Edward Norton.

Agneepath
Remake of:

Agneepath (1990)
Karan Johar chose Hrithik Roshan over Abhishek Bachchan while remaking his home banner's Agneepath starring Amitabh Bachchan, which is considered cult cinema despite being a box-office dud.
What's new: Mithun Chakravarthy's award-winning supporting character is chopped off in the remake. Instead a new character of
Rishi Kapoor is introduced who plays the most mean and menacing role of his life. Sanjay Dutt's Kancha Cheena goes bald. And there's Katrina Kaif who scorches the screen with Chikni Chameli (again remake of a Marathi song).
What's retained: This official remake claims to derive very little from the original other than basic elements (ironically unofficial remakes are copying more from the original ones).
Remake history: Mukul Anand's 1990 film was heavily inspired by Al Pacino's 'Scarface (1983) and seemingly Hrithik Roshan's version seems more close to the original with claims that Duggu dear pays homage to Pacino. Interestingly even
Hollywood plans to remake Scarface sometime soon.

Priyanka not invited to Gauri Khan’s Christmas bash

Gauri Khan had a big Christmas bash at Mannat on Saturday night.

She had been planning for it all of last week and had called all the regulars like
Karan Johar,Hrithik-Sussanne, Arjun-Mehr, Farhan-Adhuna, Riteish-Genelia, Mahesh-Lara, Dino-Nandita, Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khanand others. However, one regular - Priyanka Chopra - was left out.

A source reveals, "It was not a slip-up. She was deliberately left out. Gauri called everyone from the Don 2 unit but her. This is the first time PC has been kept away from a party at the Khan home. Her absence at the party didn't go unnoticed and some people were overheard discussing it in hushed tones. At first everyone assumed that she would arrive later, but after a point it was clear that she wasn't arriving as she hadn't been invited." The last time Gauri-Priyanka met was at a recent Don 2 trial, and they were cordial to each other.

A source close to PC says she wasn't at the party because of family commitments, "Her parents were going out of town. So she decided to spend time with them after her shooting

Why call Vidya Balan a 'Khan' feels SRK.

It all apparently started with Movie producerEkta Kapoor calling Vidya Balan as Vidya Balan Khan as Vidya had carried the entire movie (Dirty Picture) on her shoulders. Vidya stated that she wanted to be called as Vidya Balan Khan. She had also joked, "Saare Khans ke naam kea aage Balan Laga dete hai (lets add Balan after the names of Khans)

Shah Rukh was the only Khan who had reacted to it by stating, "If Vidya Balan gets married to me, I won't mind to putting her surname after my name."

After the news became media's popular question, Shah Rukh added, "Talent, hard work has no name. Success has no name. Vidya has achieved what she has because of her talent. Why should we give her any names to add to hers? Why should we call her Khan?"

SHAHRUKH WITH Sex Bombs

SHAHRUKH WITH Sex Bombs

Shahrukh Khan is everywhere these days! And now we also see him on a sexy cover of the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar. He is the cool-as-a-cucumber Khan, always at ease in puncturing media’s line of query. But what is he doing on the cover of a fashion mag that too flanked by the starlets Angela Jonssonand Lisa Haydon?

Shahrukh Khan poses for Harper’s Bazaar as King of Hearts, and lets us know what sexy is for him. With SRK, Lisa and Angela, Harper’s Bazaar has indeed pulled a coup of sorts. Shahrukh Khan being flanked by the two femme fatales on the cover is quite a sight as the theme is King of Hearts.

Wearing a black sheer shirt, red pants by Dior, and revealing a bit of his clean-shaven torso, the Khan is in action with Angela on one side and Lisa on the other. He is always a ladies’ man. Isn’t he?

Talking about the girls, both are Kingfisher calendar babes. Angela Jonsson looks magical in a gossamer white creation, showing off her endless legs and leaving less to imagination, while the Shake It Saiyyan gal Lisa Haydon is the lady in black. Sensuous Lisa looks enticing as she lets her gorgeous eyes do the talking. And Shahrukh, he indeed looks a King of Hearts. The photoshoot is done by the leading fashion photographer Atul Kasbekar.

Have a look at Shahrukh Khan who makes a hot picture with the bombshells Angela Jonsson and Lisa Haydon:
